We saw some really great baseball memorabilia. The bat The Babe used when he called his shot. Ty Cobb's jersey. Willie Mays' glove from his incredibly sweet over-the-shoulder catch. The "asterisked" ball from Barry Bonds record breaking home run. And many other cool things. The best part was when we walked in, Kellen turned to me and with a big smile on his face said, "I am so excited I have goose bumps!" Kellen lived every 12 year-old boys fantasy. Our next stop was Palmyra.
In Palmyra we were able to see all of the church historical sites. We visited the Peter Whitmer log cabin, the Smith log cabin and frame house, the Sacred Grove, the Grandin Building where the Book of Mormon was first published, the Hill Cumorah, and the Martin Harris farm. We even had the opportunity to do a session in the Palmyra Temple. It was a wonderful experience. And my testimony was strengthened from having the opportunity of being there. Our final stop was Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls was actually really cool. We took the Maid of the Mist boat that sailed right to the base of Horseshoe Falls and directly in front of American Falls. We were also able to walk around the top of the falls. That night we camped on the shores of Lake Ontario. It was very beautiful and a wonderful way to finish our trip.
